(Junior) Simulation and Software Developer (m/f/d)

We are seeking a Junior Wind Energy Software Developer to join our team at a remote-first company with an office in Stuttgart. You will be responsible for developing internally used wind turbine design- and simulation software, software used by our clients, and software deployed on wind turbines in the field. The ideal candidate will by highly experienced in Python and C++ programming, with a collaborative mindset but able to work independently, and a desire to work in renewable energy.

Responsibilities:

  • – Develop internal software tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our team’s work.
  • – Work with clients to understand their needs and develop software solutions to meet their requirements.
  • – Develop software to be used on wind turbines, including control systems, data acquisition, simulation models and monitoring solutions.
  • – Collaborate on cutting-edge wind-energy technologies, working together with control experts, mechanical engineers and stakeholders, to ensure that software development projects are completed on time and meet project requirements.
  • – Write, test, and debug code in Python and C++, ensuring that software is high-quality and meets industry standards.
  • – Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • – Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • – Strong experience in Python and C++ programming languages, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • – Controls, simulation, and wind turbine dynamics background is of advantage
  • – Understanding of software development principles and methodologies, for example using GitLab
  • – Familiarity with software testing frameworks and techniques.
  • – Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts and technologies.
  • – Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when necessary.
  • – Passion for renewable energy and a desire to work on projects that have a positive impact on the environment.
